Bad Omen?

Do I have this right?
The catalyst for our current economic disaster was the collapse of the housing market, leading to mass foreclosures in which millions of people may lose their homes. Now the President's plan is to deal with this crisis by building more park benches, bridges, tunnels and overpasses.
Does anyone besides me think this is a bad omen?

Don't know that I want to live in/under/on one of said benches, etc. but if I'm a good boy, maybe I could get a job constructing them. Be still my beating heart!

There's a particularly comfy bench on UCI's campus--I'm claiming my spot now!

Anaheim is spending $220,000,000 of the state's stimulus to upgrade and expand the convention center. There should be some really nice places to setup camp in there once it's finished.

It isn't a bad omen. The president just hasn't gotten his timing down to a simple science, yet.Just you watch, next year (2010) Obama will decide on a bill to create more housing and jobs. Then he will get back to the books and create his own free energy initiative with his home made, not to mention fully functional and idiot proof, fusion reactor. Then he will be offered a position as king of the world. When offered he will of course say no,as is the american tradition.

Stacey and Chris, will you save a couple of places for me? Irvine is warmer than Seattle right now.

SEM, maybe you're right. I think it's just as likely that the Pres. would refuse to be King as that he would develop a cold-fusion reactor.
